Collection: 25 Ice Cream Cakes

We are very excited to present a very delicious (looking) series of works on paper by Simone Shubuck. Thinking about the weirdness of Cookie Puss, the sweet brilliance of Frog and Toad and the awkward elegance of The Courtesan de Chocolat from The Gran Budapest Hotel, Simone started making ice cream cakes for fun and also very much in line with her practice— that is always looking to what is art, and how is it shown and experienced and sometimes, if you’re lucky, eaten.
Refrencing and being informed by the actual ice cream cakes she’s been making, this is the version that will stick around. The mixed media pieces are 11” x 13” on a pale grey vintage paper. They are framed in a natural ash with UV plexi. There are 25 unique words in this special series.
